Refund Policy

30-day returns

You may return an item within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions below.

Cameras and accessories

Return cameras, mounts, batteries, chargers and other reusable accessories in their original packaging with all accessories and documentation. Items may be unboxed and tested, but must be clean and undamaged. We do not charge a restocking fee for items returned in proper condition.

Consumable items

Single-use adhesive pads and other consumable accessories must be unopened, with factory seals intact, in their original packaging. Opened or used consumables cannot be returned for a change of mind. This does not affect returns for faulty, damaged or incorrect items.

Start a return

Email support@opentrailcameras.com with your order number and reason for return. Wait for our return instructions before sending anything back.

Return shipping

Customers pay return shipping for standard change-of-mind returns. We recommend a trackable shipping service.

Refunds

After receiving and inspecting your return, we refund your original payment method. Your bank or card issuer may take a few more business days to show the refund.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

If an item arrives faulty, damaged, leaking, expired where applicable, or different from what you ordered, contact us with photos. We will replace it or refund you in full, including shipping paid, and cover return shipping.

Compatibility

Compatibility information follows the manufacturer’s specifications. If you ordered an accessory that does not fit your camera and the package is unopened, the 30-day return policy applies. If our listing stated incorrect compatibility, we cover the return in full.

Shipping Policy

Tracking

Every order ships with tracking. We email your tracking number when your order leaves the warehouse.

Delivery time

Orders arrive in 7–10 business days. If an order is expected to take longer than 10 business days, we email you before it ships so you can wait or cancel for a full refund.

Where we ship

We ship within the contiguous United States.

Shipping cost

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on weight and destination. All shipping charges and taxes are shown before you confirm your order.

Large equipment and bundles

Bulky camera equipment and accessory bundles may have separate shipping rates based on package dimensions, weight and destination. The full amount is shown at checkout.

Batteries and restricted items

Batteries and other restricted accessories ship using services permitted by the carrier. Some items may require ground transport. The stated 7–10 business day delivery window applies, subject to the delay notices below.

Order changes and incorrect addresses

Contact us as soon as possible to change or cancel an order or correct an address. Once the order ships, we cannot change the address.

Delays outside our control

Carrier delays, severe weather and public holidays may extend delivery beyond 7–10 business days. We keep you updated by email.

Lost or damaged parcels

If tracking shows no movement for an extended period or your item arrives damaged or leaking, contact us with your order number and photos of the packaging and item. We will replace it or refund you in full.

What we collect

When you order, we collect your name, email, shipping and billing addresses, phone number and order details. Payment card details go directly to our payment processor; we do not see or store them.

Why we collect it

We use this information to process payment, ship orders, send tracking, handle returns and answer support requests. If you opt in to our mailing list, we may send camera and accessory updates and offers.

Who we share it with

We share information with Shopify, our payment processor and the carrier delivering your order. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies

Cookies keep your cart, remember preferences and measure site use. You may block cookies in your browser, but the cart may stop working.

Your rights

To request a copy, correction or deletion of your personal data, email support@opentrailcameras.com.

Retention

We retain order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require, then delete them.

Read the manufacturer’s instructions before use. Follow the stated water-resistance limits and mounting instructions. Do not modify equipment or use damaged cables or chargers.

Safe use — batteries and accessories

Use compatible batteries and chargers and follow the manufacturer’s handling, charging and storage instructions. Do not use damaged or leaking batteries. Keep small parts and batteries away from children. Ask us before use if you are unsure about compatibility.

Manufacturer warranties

Use of third-party accessories may affect a manufacturer’s warranty, depending on its terms. Warranty coverage is determined by the manufacturer; we cannot advise on another company’s warranty terms.

Pricing and availability

Prices are in USD and may change. If an item is unavailable or incorrectly priced after you order, we contact you to offer a replacement or full refund. We do not charge a different price without your agreement.

Orders we may decline

We may decline or cancel orders if stock is unavailable, fraud is suspected or we cannot ship to the address provided. Payments already collected are refunded in full.

Limitation of liability

Our liability for an order is limited to the amount paid, except where the law does not allow that limit.
