Opentrail Cameras

Warranty

Last updated: October 3, 2026

Every refurbished (open box) GoPro HERO13 Black we sell comes with a 1-year limited warranty provided by Opentrail Cameras. This page explains what it covers, what it does not, and how to make a claim.

At a glance

  • 1 year from the delivery date, provided by Opentrail Cameras, not by GoPro.
  • Covers faults in materials and workmanship under normal use.
  • We repair or replace the camera, or refund you. For an accepted claim we cover shipping within the contiguous United States.

1. Who provides this warranty

This warranty is given by Opentrail Cameras. It is not a GoPro warranty. Because the camera is an open-box unit sold by an independent retailer, GoPro's own manufacturer warranty may not apply to it; our warranty is the cover you can rely on.

2. How long it lasts

12 months from the delivery date shown in your tracking. It covers the original purchaser and is not transferable. A repaired or replacement camera is covered for the remainder of the original 12 months, or 90 days, whichever is longer.

3. What is covered

Faults in materials or workmanship that stop the camera working as the manufacturer intends, under normal use. Examples: the camera not powering on, not recording, a screen or touchscreen failing, buttons or doors failing, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth not working, or the camera not charging.

4. What is not covered

  • Cosmetic marks that were present when the camera arrived, and normal wear afterwards.
  • Damage from drops, impacts, crushing, or use outside the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Water damage from use beyond the rated depth of 10 m / 33 ft, from a door left open or not fully latched, or from a damaged or dirty door gasket.
  • Damage from heat, sand, or salt water not rinsed off after use.
  • Repairs, modifications or parts not authorised by us.
  • Wear parts: the lens cover, the battery, doors and gaskets, and the adhesive mount.
  • Software, apps, GoPro subscriptions and cloud services, which are provided by GoPro.
  • Damage in transit. This is handled under our shipping policy; report it within 48 hours of delivery.

5. How to make a claim

Email support@opentrailcameras.com with your order number, a description of the fault, and a short video or photos showing it.

We reply within 1–2 business days and may suggest a few checks first: many issues are solved by a firmware update, a factory reset, or cleaning the battery contacts.

If the fault is covered, we send a prepaid shipping label for addresses in the contiguous United States. Pack the camera securely with its battery removed and placed beside it.

Once we have inspected it, we repair it, replace it with an equivalent unit, or refund the price you paid, at our choice. We aim to complete this within 5–7 business days of receiving the camera.

6. If no fault is found

If we find no fault, or the problem is not covered, we tell you before doing anything else and return the camera to you. You may be responsible for return shipping costs in cases where no fault is found.

7. Your legal rights

This warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, any rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your state.
